Great to see you guys participating. Not surprised to see Williams getting votes over Cena, diss appointed though. Just can't see what Williams has done recently to garner this sort of support, I mean Cena did wrestle one of the matches of the year after all.

From a technical standpoint, Williams matches far outweigh Cena's, in general. Sure he didn't have a killer storyline last year but towards the end of the previous year and the start of last year he had a classic trilogy with AJ for the TV strap. He was also part of a great Slammiversary match involving Mangus, himself, Shelley and Roode.

The Miz (PWI 2011 #1) vs. Go Shiozaki (PWI 2011 #64)
I've never seen Go Shiozaki, but The Miz is really a great competitor, imo.
The Miz

Randy Orton (PWI 2011 #2) vs. Brother Devon (PWI 2011 #63)
Orton is more of a complex wrestler.
Randy Orton

John Cena (PWI 2011 #3) vs. Douglas Williams (PWI 2011 #62)
I actually enjoy Cena. I think that if this were to happen, it'd be one hell of a match, but I can see Cena coming out on top, not just cause hes Super but ..
John Cena

Kane (PWI 2011 #4) vs. Justin Gabriel (PWI 2011 #61)
Kane has gotten alot like Taker in a way. He only does a minium of afew moves, and Gabriel would just out wrestle him.
Justin Gabriel

Takashi Sugiura (PWI 2011 #5) vs. Abyss (PWI 2011 #60)
Abyss has gotten old, and stale. He has entered TNA as a beast, and now .. he's just .. blah.
Takashi Sugiura

Alberto Del Rio (PWI 2011 #6) vs. Gunner (PWI 2011 #59)
Del Rio is a great submissionist, imo. He would get the best of Gunner.

Again, Iunno who Togi is, so ..
Rob Van Dam

R-Truth has really gotten funny and has improved in the ring.
R-Truth

Daniel Bryan (PWI 2011 #15) vs. El Zorro (PWI 2011 #50)
Definitly Bryan, he is just .. YEAH!
Daniel Bryan

Jeff Hardy (PWI 2011 #16) vs. Adam Pearce (PWI 2011 #49)
Dunno who Adam Pearce is, but I have little respect for Hardy. I have some respect, but only like a 1.5 on a scale of 10.
Adam Pearce

Dolph Ziggler (PWI 2011 #17) vs. Chris Sabin (PWI 2011 #48)
I think that Dolph Ziggler has improved so well in the ring and on the mic. I love Sabin but ..
Dolph Ziggler

Kurt Angle (PWI 2011 #18) vs. Alex Shelley (PWI 2011 #47)
Oh fuck yeah. This would be sweet. Shelley would be quick, but Angle is a great competitor.
Alex Shelley

Wade Barrett (PWI 2011 #19) vs. El Generico (PWI 2011 #46)
As much as I like Barrett, El Generico. Oh Fuck Yeah. Nuff Said.
El Generico

Jeff Jarrett (PWI 2011 #20) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (PWI 2011 #45)
Nakamura, no idea who he is .. but he sure as hell is better then Jarrett.
Shinsuke Nakamura

Sting (PWI 2011 #21) vs. Antonio Cesaro (PWI 2011 #44)
Antonio Cesaro. He is great in ring, and Sting is just .. abit old ..
Antonia Cesaro.

Hiroshi Tanahashi (PWI 2011 #22) vs. Sin Cara (PWI 2011 #43)
Cara botches to much.
Hiroshi Tanahashi

Ultimo Dragon (PWI 2011 #23) vs. Samoa Joe (PWI 2011 #42)
Samoa Joe is a beast, he has improved in the ring, and is just pretty cool.
Samoa Joe

I love Storm in the ring. Love the Superkick.
James Storm

Kofi Kingston (PWI 2011 #29) vs. Chris Hero (PWI 2011 #36)
I think Kingston has been improving, but Hero is a great competitor.
Chris Hero

Bobby Roode (PWI 2011 #30) vs. Cody Rhodes (PWI 2011 #35)
Cody Rhodes is a Second Generation Superstar, and is phenomenal in the ring. I hate Rhoode too.
Cody Rhodes

The Big Show (PWI 2011 #31) vs. Kazarian (PWI 2011 #34)
Big Show would for sure knock Kaz's lights out.
Big Show

Christian (PWI 2011 #32) vs. Matt Morgan (PWI 2011 #33)
Chirstian has the experiance. He is great in the ring.
Christian

Miz
Orton, though I am highly annoyed with him.
Williams, I cannot stand Cena.
Kane
Abyss, even though he's not much anymore.
Del Rio for sure.
Mr. Anderson
Henry, since Mysterio isn't as good out of his prime.
Dinero
Punk definitely.
Van Dam
Sheamus by a little bit.
McIntyre, his new gimmick sounds ... interesting.
Truth
Bryan obviously.
Hardy, but that's because I have never heard of Pearce.
Ziggler, but Sabin is close.
Shelley by a bit.
Barrett, the best.
Jarrett
Sting, I just have to.
Cara, despite the botching. It's not that big a deal.
Joe
Styles
Richards because I don't really care about Ray anymore.
Swagger
Morrison, never seen Banderas.
Storm
Chris Hero, though Kofi is good.
Cody Rhodes slightly.
Big Show unfortunately.
Christian is tops.

And Adam, how is Barrett inconsistent? The only inconsistency I see is how he is booked, and that isn't something he can help.

Wow, I don't see how anyone can vote for Davey Richards, especially when he's matched up against Bully Ray, he's been gold. Anyone care to explain?

I'll answer this as I feel the same as Adam. I think it is more how he's booked. His year has been very up and down and even his Intercontinental title run wasn't all that good. It hasn't been until just recentley he has stepped up his game.

People trying to be smarky. They think it's cool to say Richards.

It's impossible to not rate Ray if you ACTUALLY WATCH impact.

PS - Yeah I'd go make your first two picks in the booker thing. I'm the only other person that picked so I'll take back my picks and allow you to go.

Whether it be on the mic or in the ring, Barrett blows hot and cold in my opinion. In the last four months he's been outstanding, even though Randy hasn't been helping. In his first four months he was very good. There has been a massive lull in between. I don't blame booking because in things like this I'm looking purely at when he HAS wrestled and when he HAS been on the mic. And I think he has elongated periods when he isn't great at either -- it MAY be laziness or not caring BECAUSE of the storyline he is in though.

Also, El Generico hasn't produced a bad match that I have witnessed this year.

Truth be told when he he first started his single run I was not looking forward to it but he has been incredible. Even if you don't watch impact you still shouldn't be voting Richards ...

In that "lull" in between, he didn't get any mic time and his matches were limited. I have always found him impressive and I've been behind him since NXT. I remember wanting him to win because I knew Bryan had a way in regardless of whether he won or not. Barrett has always been good on the mic and as long as you're not a mark and you're comparing him to Orton, you cannot deny he is/was the star of the feud. Have you seen his WWE.com exclusives? There are two videos of him stealing the camera guy's camera and causing hilarious havoc backstage. For some odd reason (even though it was comedic gold), they stopped doing it after two videos. And besides the talking, his matches, when not limited, I find to be fantastic.

I'm not saying he's not impressive and I'm not saying your opinion is wrong and that mine is right, I just feel, on a personal basis that he has had some shoddy matches and that as a whole he has been inconsistent. I am not denying that he is the star of the feud, perhaps the star of SD! at the moment, in fact I'm very surprised Orton hasn't put him over yet.

I was thinking I'd wrap this round up on the first of March for me, so three days. Tallying the votes now so far so we can see where everyone is position at the moment.

That's funny, because I'm not.

The Universe's March Madness - Page 2 Empty

So far a few surprises for me. I though the past few months for The Miz would have cost him more than 2 votes, I thought John Cena would have been a few more votes in front and that Sheamus/Seth Rollins would have been a far tighter battle.

Cannot believe Kurt Angle/Alex Shelley is so close, gotta love Shelley but come on. Anyone who voted for Shelley care to explain why they picked him over Angle? Sting beating Cesaro/Castagnoli blows my mind, I would have thought at most Sting would get 3 votes but I guess there is still some love for him. Richards gets through and I'll cry, get behind Ray for sure.

Surprised Roode/Rhodes hasn't been tighter. Roode may have been a world champion this year but Rhodes has been incredible all year, granted I didn't vote for him, but I am surprised it isn't tighter than 6-3. Would have thought with a good draw Rhodes could make the top 8.

Not at all surprised to see CM Punk and Daniel Bryan take 9 straight votes each. may be looking at our final if they don't get matched up earlier, would make for some interesting voting.

Make sure to keep the votes coming and the discussion up!

I can not see how anyone can pick Sin Cara over Hiroshi Tanahashi. That is just not right.
