EFNW Wrestling :: The Science of Evil

A new video uploaded to EFNW.com shows Cyrus Black, EFNW World Heavyweight Champion, busy with his training regimen. He looks like he's been at it for quite a while, as sweat trickles from his forehead and his breathing is somewhat heavy. Still, he presses forward with a combination of cardio, weights, and strikes on dummies and practice bags. After delivering a series of scintillating kicks to a punching bag, Cyrus grabs a towel and wipes his face as he looks at the camera and chuckles.

Cyrus Black: You know, this would be the part where a lot of my fellow wrestlers would step back and brag about their accomplishments, about their accolades and their talents. And let's face it, nobody can say that I've got nothing to crow about. A stellar defense against a very game Omega...and yeah, Omega, feel free to earn another title match, because fighting you was fun...and my ever-growing list of championship honors not only here but in other promotions give me more than ample opportunity to brag and boast. But that's never really been my style. Because despite how great or small my accomplishments are, they don't tell the whole story. They don't tell of who and what I truly am. And I think it's for that reason that so many men that I end up facing tend to short-sell me, thinking that I'm not nearly as dangerous as the more skittish members of the wrestling community claim I am.

Cyrus shakes his head as he has a seat on a bench, putting a fresh towel over his head as he rests his elbows on his knees and folds his hands.

Cyrus Black: It seems that I've been getting a lot more of that lately from all comers. Most notably from my challenger at Pain for Pride...Alex Nova. And again, I could talk ad nauseum about the utter and complete stupidity of this young buck, but I won't. I could talk about how deeply I've wormed my way into his head despite his incessent protests to the contrary, but I won't. Instead, allow me a bit of time to tell young Nova what he can expect at Pain for Pride. Nova, when Consisto the announcer calls for the main event, and your music hits the loudspeakers, you'll come out from behind that curtain and hop up and down all excited for your big break. You'll run down to the ring and pose for the crowd, maybe pound your chest a little to try and convince them that you're ready for battle.

Cyrus unfolds his hands as he scratches his chin.

Cyrus Black: But then a funny thing will happen, Alex. My theme will blare. The crowd will get to their feet and roar like you've never heard them roar before. I will walk out, with the EFNW World Title securely fastened around my waist. You'll see no joy in my face as I slowly walk down to my ring, and you sure as hell won't see any fear. What you'll see is resolve...determination beyond your feeble mind's ability to comprehend. The crowd will chant my name as I climb in the ring and unfasten my belt, and hold it up so that everyone can see. As Consisto does his introductions, you'll stare at me and think that you'll be able to intimidate me...but when you look at me and feel the murderous intentions etched in my face, your bravado will vanish and be replaced by fear...pure, cold-blooded fear.

Cyrus holds his finger up and makes a "bell ringing" motion.

Cyrus Black: The match will start. And you'll hit me. You'll continue hitting me, maybe even manage to take me down with your miserable wrestling moves. And considering how rock-stupid you are, you may even try locking me into a submission hold. But the thing is...they'll all be for naught. You hit me, and I'll hit you harder than you've ever been hit before. You'll use your crap moves, but I'll drop you on your head with a Delusion Crusher. You'll cinch in a submission, but I'll reverse that son of a bitch and snap your neck like a twig with the Long Road to Nowhere. And when all else fails, and you realize that you can't pin me, much less get me to submit, you'll ascend that top turnbuckle and attempt that pitiful excuse for a moonsault double-footstomp you call your finisher. But you know what'll happen, don't you? Just like gaining any semblence of credibility, you'll fail. You'll miss, I'll DDT your head through the mat, and then show you what a moonsault double-stomp is supposed to look like as I drive the final Nail in the Coffin. After that, you'll vainly try to struggle, but it won't matter. Because I'll take my time and tear you apart, limb from useless limb. And for the gravest sin of all...your blind, baseless arrogance...I'll tear your heart out and leave you little more than a corpse alongside the Road, little more than food for the vultures. And the thing that should scare you the most...the thing that should keep you tossing and turning at night, Alex Nova? I'll do it all without a single regret.

Cyrus removes the towel from his head as he tosses it to the ground.

Cyrus Black: At Pain for Pride, you will be broken. And you've nobody to blame but yourself, Nova. I tried to get you to see the Truth, to accept your oh-so-obvious shortcomings and see your delusions of greatness for what they truly are. But you refuse, instead seeing this as just another match. Just another match...hehehe, hahahaha...just another match! I've left so many men battered and annihilated who thought that fighting me was "just another match." I'm not just another man...I'm no legend either. I am a reaper of the phony tough and the crazy brave. And while there'll come a time when my journey ends in a ring not unlike that of the one here in EFNW, that day is not going to be Pain for Pride, and you're not the man to get the job done. It's a shame that I have to potentially end the career of yet another somewhat talented youngblood, but I will do as I must to continue moving forward. So go on, Alex...continue playing the tough-guy act all you want. Continue to think that I'm just another wrestler and this match is just another match. And when you lay your head down that night before the Pain for Pride PPV, go ahead and dream of unseating the Warrior King as EFNW World Heavyweight Champion. But before you leave to go to the arena that following night, do yourself a favor. Get down on your knees and pray to whatever God you worship and ask him to give you strength and to forgive you of your sins of arrogance and vanity. Because at Pain for Pride, I'm going to send you to your afterlife of choice. And there's nothing you can think, nothing you can say, and most certainly nothing you can do to stop me from eviserating you. My name is Cyrus Black...I am the Reaper of the Long and Winding Road. And after Pain for Pride, I will still be EFNW World Heavyweight Champion, come hell's fire or heaven's intervention. And you, Alex? You'll be little more than the shell of a blowhard rookie too easily slain by the cold, hard Truth. Eat, drink, and be merry, Alex Nova...for at Pain for Pride, you will die.

Cyrus stands up and walks off camera as the video cuts to black...

Alex Nova arrives catching Cyrus's little segment and chuckles knowing all that is bullshit, and he will beat him, he grabs his bag and heads down the corridor

As he walks down the corridor, he bumps into the chest of Victor Elias and looks up, seeing both him and Angel Rodriguez.

AR: Good luck in your title match with Cyrus, Mr. Nova, and remember, if you win the belt, then you'll have to defend it against me. So do you really, really, want to win the title and have to deal with us two?
