Monday Night Raw Live From New York City, New York
The show kicks off with Teddy Long addressing the events of Vengeance. He says that he never trusted John Laurinaitis and now he is sure that all John wants is to take Teddy’s place as the Raw GM. He says that that’s not going to happen. Teddy announces that next week’s Raw will be a Super-Show! He has already booked four matches. Two title matches and two non-title matches. Next week, Wade Barrett is going to defend the U.S. Championship against the Internet Champion Zack Ryder! The other title match will be The Miz defending the WWE Title against CM Punk in a Vengeance re-match where if Miz gets disqualified or counted out he will lose the title. He adds that the Big Show will finally go one on one against Triple H and Mark Henry is gonna face the Showstopper Shawn Michaels! Chris Jericho comes out and gets in Teddy’s face. He demands to be taken seriously and replace CM Punk in the WWE Title match next week. He says that if Long doesn’t make that happen he will join Laurinaiti’s team. Long tells Jericho that tonight he was supposed to face Edge but the doctors told him that Edge will be unable to compete after what Mark Henry did to him last night. Therefore Jericho will face a mystery opponent in tonight’s main event and if he wins the match then he will become the #1 contender for the WWE Title. Jericho asks Teddy who is going to be his opponent but Teddy just walks out without saying anything.
Backstage John Laurinaitis is talking to Triple H and Wade Barrett. Teddy Long walks up and goes to Hi5 John. The Executive Vice President of Talent Relations tells Long that he should quit from Raw before Mr. McMahon fires him. Teddy says that the only man who is going to get fired is someone who doesn’t do his job well and that’s John. He tells Barrett and HHH to not worry about their matches next week as they have a match up next too! These two are going to face Shawn Michaels and the Big Show! HHH and Barrett didn’t like this decision at all.
