Segment 1 - The first NXT show starts with all the rookies getting short introductions, until The Miz took things into his own hands, and declared that his rookie would be winning NXT easily, but Chris Jericho didn't take too kindly to his former mentor's words, and it was announced that The Miz and Sterling James Keenan would take on Chris Jericho and Shelton Benjamin.

Segment 2 - Cody Rhodes def. Richie Steamboat. After the match, Alex Riley chewed out his rookie angrily.

Segment 3 - Edge and Bobby Roode were seen going over strategy for Roode's match, and Roode tells us a bit about his prior experience.

Segment 4 - Bobby Roode and Shark Boy def. Skip Sheffield and Husky Harris, after the match Roode and Edge celebrated, but Rhodes was unimpressed with his rookie.

Segment 5 - The Miz and SJK are seen backstage as The Miz tells his rookie that he'd best not let him down tonight.

Segment 6 - Basic Nitro Recap and Hype Video for the Main Event.

Main Event - The Miz and Sterling James Keenan draw with Chris Jericho and Shelton Benjamin. The match was great, but ended in a brawl that saw SJK and Benjamin both get counted out. Angry with the results, but pros delivered their respective finishers to their rookies before sharing an intense stare down.

The show kicks off with Evan Bourne coming out to a big pop from the crowd. The commentators, Matt Stryker and Todd Grisham acknowledge that Evan Bourne was out of the WWE for the last month. Bully Ray comes out as he will be Bourne’s opponent for tonight. Stryker says that tonight Edge will host the Cutting Edge with special guests his opponents at King of the Ring, Alberto Del Rio, John Morrison and Randy Orton.

Evan Bourne vs Bully Ray

Evan manages to stay away from Ray at the start with speed but gets caught in Ray’s legs and is met with a fist to his back. Ray tries to whip him into the corner but Evan slides to the outside and taunts Ray. Ray makes his way to the outside and Bourne runs back in. Bourne hits Ray with some kicks and then is met with a vicious clothesline. The air is sucked out of his lungs when Ray nails him with a splash in the corner. Evan is still grounded as Bully Ray holds him with a double under-hook. Crowd is starting to build for Evan but Ray nails him to the ground. Ray picks Evan up and holds him with an arm-bar and then he holds Bourne’s legs up for an incredibly painful looking variant on the abdominal stretch. Evan does get out and bounces off the rope to hit the back of Bully’s leg. Ray is still up and gets hit in the leg two more times. A drop kick to the head, and a missile dropkick from the top rope finally takes him down. Huge Hurricarana out of nowhere, and Bourne somehow has the advantage. Ray is in the corner and Bourne connects with the splash attempt. Ray comes to the center of the ring and Bourne bounces off the ropes but is caught and met with a backbreaker. Ray goes for the Bully Bomb but Bourne rolls through into a roll-up for the pin-fall at 4:46.

Winner: Evan Bourne!

After the match, Bourne slides out of the ring smiling as Ray looks upset in the ring.

Backstage we see Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin shaking hands as the two partners are going to be opponents tonight on WWE Superstars. That’s next.

The bell rings and both shake hands. Lock up and Shelley works on Sabin’s arm. Sabin flips out reversing. Shelley falls back and kicks Sabin away. Both back off as the crowd applauses. Lock up and Shelley goes back to work on Sabin’s arm. Sabin trips up Shelley. Shelley fights his way to his feet as Sabin works on his arm still. Lots of reversals between the two. Shelley locks on a modified figure four. Sabin rolls out and applies a body scissors submission. Sabin with a big arm drag off the ropes. More counters between the two as the back off again and the fans cheer. Sabin and Shelley exchange kicks. Sabin breaks it up with a few right hands and knee to the gut. Rollup from Sabin that Shelley counters. Sabin powers back with a big dropkick. Sabin drops down and applies a modified abdominal stretch. Shelley gets his leg on the bottom rope to break it up. Shelley with a big elbow on Sabin on the ring apron. Shelley jumps over to catch Sabin, but Sabin returns to the ring, hits the ropes and hits a suicide dive taking Shelley out to the outside. Sabin is hung over the middle rope when Shelley goes up top and hits a flip dive over the neck/back of Sabin! Chops exchanged between Sabin and Shelley. Lionsault off the ropes by Shelley on Sabin, cover and Sabin kicks out after two. Shelley applies an abdominal stretch on Sabin in the middle of the ring. Shelley with a big back suplex on Sabin. Sabin returns quickly with a big dropkick to Shelley. Both exchange more chest chops. Both exchange separate shots in the corner which gets a nice reaction from the crowd. Sabin with a huge jumping tornado DDT off the top, cover and Shelley kicks out after two. Shelley recovers as Sabin jumps again off the top, but Shelley dodges it and applies a Cross-face on Sabin. Shelley gets the double under-hooks on Sabin. Sabin reverses and Shelley grabs the corner to break it up. Shelley grabs Sabin and drives Sabin face first into the second turnbuckle! Shelley attempts a springboard DDT, but Sabin drops Shelley with a neck-breaker off the top rope. Sabin then with a bridge suplex on Shelley that results in a very close two count. Sabin with multiple kicks to Shelley. Shelley fires back with a clothesline and jumping side slam. Cover and Sabin kicks out after two. Shelley goes up top and Sabin cuts him off. Sabin attempts a huracanrana, but Shelley holds on and Sabin falls back. Shelley with a powerbomb on Sabin. Shelley is back up on the top, jumps and attempts a frog splash, but Sabin gets his knees up. Sabin is up top now, jumps, Shelley dodges a dropkick, Shelley is up and connects with a frog splash to the back. Shelley rolls Sabin over, goes up top again and this time connects with the frog splash. Cover by Shelley and Sabin barely kicks out. A loud “THIS IS AWESOME” chant starts up. Sabin with a huge clothesline on Shelley. Sabin has Shelley up, hits the Cradle Shock, hooks the leg and Shelley barely gets his shoulder up after two. Sabin puts Shelley up on the top, puts Shelley on his shoulders, Shelley hits some elbows, falls off, super-kicks Sabin, brings Sabin down and hits the Sliced Bread #2, but Sabin kicks out at 2. Shelley with a chop to Sabin. Sabin responds with a super-kick. Sabin dodges another Sliced Bread #2 attempt and rolls-up Shelley, who counters into a roll-up of his own for the pin-fall at 10:21.

Winner: Alex Shelley!

After the match, Shelley celebrates his win as Sabin looks upset at first but then he congratulates his partner and they shake hands again. Suddenly, Brock Lesnar comes out with a steel chair in hand and he takes out both Shelley and Sabin. Lesnar hits the F-5 on Shelley and then he sets Sabin for the F-5 too but John Cena runs out and he unloads on Lesnar with strong right hands. Cena grabs the steel chair and he hits Lesnar in the back as Lesnar quickly rolls out of the ring. Cena yells at Lesnar to get back in the ring but Lesnar heads to the back. Cena drops down the chair and helps up Sabin who checks on his partner Alex Shelley.

RED wrote:: Back from the break and Mr. Kennedy is in the ring introducing himself to the crowd. Daniel Bryan is out next to a nice crowd reaction. Christian comes out to a big heat followed by Jack Swagger.

Christian & Jack Swagger vs Daniel Bryan & Mr. Kennedy

Bryan and Swagger will kick things off. The bell rings and they go to the mat with Swagger taking control first. Lots of back and forth action on the mat here with submission attempts. Bryan goes for a big kick but barely hits it. Bryan drops Swagger with a dropkick but only gets a 1 count. Bryan with a series of kicks in the corner. Swagger sends Bryan to the floor. Swagger goes to the floor and works over Bryan on the apron. Swagger charges Bryan but he ducks. Swagger ends up on the floor. Bryan runs the ring and hits a baseball slide, knocking him back into the barrier. Bryan hits a big knee drop in the air off the apron, knocking Swagger back into the railing again. Back in the ring, Bryan hits a huge missile dropkick for a 2 count. More back and forth action and near-falls between Swagger and Bryan. Swagger hits the big splash coming out of the corner. Swagger grabs Bryan for the gut-wrench powerbomb but Bryan counters. Bryan counters and goes for the LeBell Lock. Swagger counters that with a backbreaker. Swagger tags in Christian. Christian with a kick and slap to the face of Bryan. Christian with an Irish whip and a monkey flip but Bryan lands on his feet and he hits a Dragon Screw Leg whip followed by a running drop kick into the corner and he gets a near fall. Christian with a slap and then he slingshots to the floor but Bryan knows what is coming next and he blocks the uppercut. Bryan with a kick to Christian and he sets for the suicide dive and he hits it and both men are down. Bryan returns Christian into the ring and he tries for a surfboard and he applies it to Christian and then he gets a near fall. Bryan with a European uppercut followed by an Irish whip but he runs into boots from Christian. Christian kicks Bryan but Bryan with a series of kicks. Bryan misses a charge into the corner and Christian hits a pendulum kick. Christian goes for the Kill-Switch and Bryan counters into the LeBell lock but Christian reaches the ropes. Bryan makes the tag with Kennedy. Kennedy unloads on Christian with right hands. Christian quickly rolls out of the ring and Kennedy takes him out with a drop-kick sending him into the security wall. Kennedy misses with a cross-body of the ropes as Christian moves out of the way. Christian sends Kennedy shoulder first into the steel steps. Christian sends Kennedy back to the ring and covers but gets 2. Christian tags in Swagger. Swagger works on Kennedy’s back. Kennedy fights back and Swagger hits a belly-to-belly suplex for a near-fall. Swagger goes for the gut-wrench power-bomb but Kennedy counters into a neck-breaker. Kennedy with a Northern light suplex for a 2 count. Kennedy goes for the standing Green Bay plunge but Swagger slides off of his back and takes out his knee. Swagger locks in the ankle-lock but Kennedy rolls through into a roll-up for a 2 count. Kennedy hits a perfect spinning roundhouse kick on Swagger and then he tags in Bryan. Bryan with a cross-body off the top but Swagger rolls through and applies the ankle-lock. Bryan kicks Swagger away and Christian tags in himself. Bryan takes down Christian with a drop-kick. Bryan with kicks to the chest but he misses the round kick. Bryan misses a charge into the corner and Christian tries for another pendulum kick but Bryan knows what is coming and he blocks the kick. He keeps Christian in the ropes and he kicks Christian in the back and then he hits a knee drop from the second ropes while Christian is in the ropes and Bryan gets a near fall. Bryan puts Christian on the top turnbuckle and then he goes up top for a super hurricarana but Christian holds on to the top rope and he hits a tornado DDT but he can only get a near fall. Christian yells at Bryan and he sets for the Killswitch but Bryan counters with the LeBell Lock and he applies it but Swagger gets in and breaks it up. Kennedy takes down Swagger. Christian goes for the Kill-Switch on Kennedy but Kennedy reverses into the Mic-Check. Swagger nails the gut-wrench power-bomb on Kennedy. Bryan with a drop-kick that sends Swagger out to the floor. Bryan misses with the running drop kick into the corner when Christian moves out of the way and Christian hits the Killswitch for the pin-fall at 12:18.

Winners: Christian and Jack Swagger!

After the match, Christian celebrates with the Intercontinental Championship. Swagger gets in and they celebrate together. Kennedy gets in and nails the Mic-Check on Swagger. Christian takes out Kennedy with the Intercontinental title belt. Christian stands above Kennedy laughing at him. Out of nowhere, Bobby Lashley comes to the ring and hits a Spear on Christian. Lashley looks down at Christian as he holds the Intercontinental title.

Over the Top Rope Battle Royal for the #1 Contender for the US Championship – Drew McIntyre vs Ezekiel Jackson vs Mason Ryan vs R-Truth vs Shad Gaspard vs Sheamus

The bell rings and all six men go at it. Sheamus and McIntyre are working together against Ezekiel Jackson in the corner while Shad and Mason Ryan go at it. R-Truth rolls out of the ring and gets a bottle of water. Truth watches on from ringside while drinking water from the bottle. Jackson takes down both McIntyre and Sheamus as Ryan over-powers Shad. Ryan with a big power-slam on Shad as Jackson takes down McIntyre with a vicious clothesline and dodges a Brogue Kick by Sheamus before hitting another big clothesline. Truth trash talks to the crowd as he stays outside. Ryan drops down Shad with a big shoulder block and then he has a stare down with Jackson. Jackson and Ryan eliminate Shad together before going at it. RVD runs out and he tosses R-Truth into the ring. Truth looks at Van Dam on the outside and Sheamus grabs him from behind and sends him out of the ring. The two Goliaths Ryan and Jackson continue to battle until Jackson picks up Ryan and impressively tosses him out of the ring. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick on Jackson and clotheslines him over the ropes into the outside. McIntyre quickly comes behind Sheamus and sends him out to the floor.

Winner: Drew McIntyre!

After the match, McIntyre celebrates in the ring as Sheamus looks upset from the outside. Sheamus grabs the tag team title belts and gets into the ring. He hands one of the titles to McIntyre and they end up celebrating together. Suddenly, McIntyre’s theme song stops and it’s replaced by Stone Cold Steve Austin’s legendary theme song. McIntyre and Sheamus seem confused as the crowd goes crazy. Once the song stops, the Rock comes out to the stage smiling.

Cutting Edge

The Rated-R Superstar Edge is in the ring as he will host the Cutting Edge tonight. Edge talks about King of the Ring and says that in a fatal 4 way match you usually have 25% chances on winning but Edge feels like he has 100% chances already. Out comes Randy Orton to a big pop from the crowd. After an intense stare down between the former tag team partners Alberto Del Rio comes out. Del Rio says that he is going to become the #1 contender for the WWE Championship and he will go on to win the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble because it’s his destiny. Edge tells Del Rio that he is sick and tired of hearing about this destiny crap and he is tired of beating Del Rio again and again. Del Rio says that this is going to change next Monday on Nitro because he will beat Edge in the Ladder match. John Morrison comes out and he says that the WWE Universe wants to see John Morrison competing for the WWE Title against his former buddy the Miz or his best enemy CM Punk. Del Rio says that Morrison shouldn’t be in this match in the first place and Morrison says that unfortunately for Del Rio, Edge and Orton he is in this match. Edge then brings out how Samoa Joe took out all four men last Monday on Nitro and proposes that they make a deal. If Samoa Joe tries to interfere in any way at King of the Ring they should take him down together. Morrison agrees but Del Rio says that he doesn’t need anyone’s help, he can deal with anyone by himself. Edge then asks Orton why doesn’t he say anything. Orton looks at the three superstars and doesn’t say a word. Del Rio calls him crazy and Edge warns him that if he keep hearing these voices in his head he will not be able to hear anything from the real world. Out comes Samoa Joe. All four superstars that are in the ring look at Joe who is outside. Joe grabs a steel chair and he enters the ring but he is attacked by Edge, Morrison and Del Rio. Joe fights off and he sets Edge for a Samoa-drop but he gets an enziguiri by Del Rio followed by a springboard flying knee to the face by Morrison. Joe then runs into a Spear by Edge. Joe is still moving however. Orton sets up for the punt but suddenly he takes out Edge with the RKO. Orton then hits the RKO on Morrison. Del Rio backs away and he runs into a Samoa-drop by Joe. Joe then turns into an RKO by Orton. Orton stands tall in the ring as the show goes off…

AJ Styles and El Generico stand in the ring with grins on their faces as Smackdown kicks off. They tell the WWE Universe that Hulk Hogan made the right decision in putting the two of them in the World Heavyweight Championship Match at King Of The Ring and can’t wait to bring back the gold. They continue to talk about the World Heavyweight Championship Match until El mentions that, tonight, he faces Christian in a Qualifier Match for the King Of The Ring Tournament and after defeating him he will be the first man in history to win the World Heavyweight Championship and become the King Of The Ring on the same night. At this point, Christian comes out with the Intercontinental Championship around his waist and tells these two men that they might as well end their dreams of becoming the next World Heavyweight Champion right now because at King Of The Ring he will become the first man in history to not only hold both the World Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship but will also become the first man in history to win the World Heavyweight Championship and become King Of The Ring on the same night; not El Generico. El gets in Christian’s face, telling him that he has no chance and that is he going to show him right now! AJ gets out of the ring, leaving El and Christian inside ready for their match.

Christian just manages to kick out but looks to be dazed. El drags Christian to his feet and gets him in position for the Spike Brainbuster. Christian manages to hook his leg around El’s, making it impossible for El to lift him. Christian punches El in the midsection, forcing him to let go, before spinning him around. Christian hooks the arms of El and turns him around in position for the Killswitch but El breaks free before rolling Christian up.

After the match El Generico celebrates with AJ Styles as Christian walks up the ramp with the Intercontinental Championship in his hand. He screams at the two men in the ring that he will get them back at King Of The Ring before turning and walking backstage.

Smackdown comes back on the air with Dolph Ziggler standing in the ring, ready for action. After a few moments of waiting, pyro explodes on the stage as an angry Kane storms out. He wastes no time in walking down the ramp, obviously still angry over losing the WWE Tag Team Championships last week. He slides in the ring and tells the referee to get this match started.

Dolph Ziggler v Kane ~ King Of The Ring Qualifier

Quote :: Kane goes straight on the attack of Ziggler and takes him down with a hard right hand. Kane drops down on top of a downed Ziggler and rains down on him with punch after punch to the head. The referee begins his five count and Kane continues to lay into Ziggler until the count of 4. Kane gets up and walks around in a circle until Ziggler gets up. Kane goes straight back to attack but Ziggler sees him coming and hits him with a quick dropkick to the knee, bringing him down to his lever. Ziggler then grabs the head of Kane and nails a DDT. Ziggler goes for a cover but Kane powers out at 1 and quickly gets back to his feet. Kane swats away a dropkick attempt from Ziggler and goes for a big boot but Ziggler manages to duck underneath this. Ziggler crawls over to the ropes and rolls to the outside to regain his composure. Kane doesn’t give him the chance and steps out of the ring. Kane begins to chase Ziggler but Ziggler quickly rolls in the ring before sliding out of the opposite side. The referee turns to watch Kane get in the ring after him and doesn’t see Ziggler pull a pair of brass knuckles out of his trunks. Kane walks over to the ropes and reaches out to grab Ziggler but Ziggler nails him with the brass knucks on the jaw, sending him crashing back into the ring. Ziggler slips off the knucks and drops them on the ground before sliding in the ring and making the cover.

Ziggler gets to his feet and raises his arm in the air as Kane lies on the ground, holding his jaw. Kane gets to his feet and an unsuspecting Ziggler turns into a Chokeslam from Kane. The fans cheer as Kane stands over the fallen body of Ziggler.

Hulk Hogan sits in his office watching the events unfold in the ring, obviously impressed. He turns away from the monitor and makes a phone call but the camera is unable to pick up what he is saying. He turns back to the monitor as Mr Kennedy and Alex Riley are making their way down the ramp.

Kennedy and Riley stand in the ring, talking strategy, as KO Inc slowly walk down the ramp. Khali gets in the ring first and walks over to his corner before being joined by Tarver.

Mr Kennedy & Alex Riley v KO Inc

Quote :: Tarver and Riley start things off by locking up in the centre with Riley getting Tarver in a headlock. Tarver fights out and pushes Riley away before tagging in Khali. Khali gets in and grabs Riley by the head before throwing him back. Riley gets up but walks right into a huge boot from Khali. Riley attempts to crawl to his corner but Khali stands on his foot, making sure he can’t move. Tarver sees an opportunity and drops down from the apron and sneaks around to the other side of the ring. He drags Kennedy off of the apron while Khali gets Riley up in position for the Khali Plunge. Tarver throws Kennedy into the steel steps before running around the ring and getting back up in his corner. Khali nails the Khali Plunge on Riley but instead of going for the cover, he tags in Tarver. Khali hoists Riley to his feet and gets him in the Vise Grip as Tarver gets in the ring. Riley screams out in pain but is soon silenced as Tarver knocks him out with the Kill Shot. Khali releases his grip and Riley slumps to the ground, giving Tarver the opportunity to make the cover.

Spoiler:

Tarver gets back to his feet and slaps the chest of Khali as he glares out at the fans. The referee gingerly raises their arms in victory as the camera shows Riley unconscious in the ring and Kennedy outside holding his shoulder in pain. KO Inc leave the ring and walk backstage, obviously proud of what they just done.

Smackdown comes back on the air with Hulk Hogan sitting behind his desk. He informs the fans that Mr Kennedy came to him during the commercial break and has requested a Falls Count Anywhere Match against KO Inc at King Of The Ring. Hulk also says that Kennedy has chosen his partner and it will be... DANIEL BRYAN!

Batista v JBL ~ King Of The Ring Qualifier

Quote :: Batista goes for a clothesline to JBL straight off the bat but JBL avoids it before rebounding off the ropes and taking down Batista with a shoulder block. The fans cheer JBL as he goes for the cover but Batista quickly powers out before the count of 1. Both men get back to their feet and JBL throws a hard right which sends Batista reeling but Batista uses the momentum of JBL’s shot to bounce off the ropes and nail a spear out of nowhere. Batista goes for the cover but JBL kicks out at a count of 2. The two men get to their feet and lock up once again, with Batista throwing JBL across the ring. JBL holds his back in pain while he staggers to his feet. He gets up and avoids an attack from Batista and follows up with a kick to the midsection. JBL smashes Batista over the back before pushing him into the corner. He hits him with a right hand to the jaw and follows it up with a left. Batista seems groggy and JBL looks to take advantage of this and pulls Batista into the centre of the ring. He gets him in position for the JBL Bomb but Batista powers out and throws JBL over his shoulders. Batista walks over to the ropes and begins to shake them before giving JBL the thumbs down. He drags JBL up and gets him in position for the Batista Bomb but JBL slips out. Batista walks over to pick JBL up but JBL punches him in the midsection before ducking passed him. He gets to his feet and charges off the ropes before hitting Batista with a big Clothesline From Hell. Batista falls to the mat and manages to roll under the bottom rope. JBL goes to go after him but the referee pulls him away. The referee begins to check on Batista and JBL stands at the opposite ropes. The fans begin to boo as Dolph Ziggler is seen running down the ramp wearing a freshly ironed suit. He drops to the ground and begins to crawl around the ring as the referee walks over to have a word with JBL. Dolph make sure the referee isn’t looking before taking brass knuckles from his pocket and handing slipping them on the right hand of Batista. Batista begins to come to and realise that he has the brass knucks on. JBL walks over and drags him to his feet but Batista comes out of nowhere with a huge right hand. JBL falls to the mat straight away and Batista drops down, making the cover.

Batista gets to his feet as the referee rings the bell and straightaway walks over to the ropes. He takes off the knucks and drops them to the ground, right next to Ziggler, who is still hiding from the referee. Ziggler picks them up and slides them on as Batista turns and celebrates in the ring. JBL charges at him for a Clothesline From Hell but Batista drops to the mat and rolls out, getting out of harm’s way. JBL is too busy fuming after Batista that he doesn’t see Ziggler coming in behind him. The boos spark something in JBL’s mind and he turns but it is too late as Ziggler is waiting to clock him with the brass knucks. This second shot seems to knock out JBL and he falls to the mat and remains motionless. Dolph takes off the brass knucks and throws them down on JBL before leaving the ring. He heads backstage as a graphic pops up showing the current brackets for the King Of The Ring tournament.

After the commentators run through the King Of The Ring brackets, we go backstage where KO Inc inform everyone that they are ready for Kennedy and Bryan at King Of The Ring and after they win they expect a WWE Tag Team Championship Match and that if they don’t get it then they will just continue to make an example of the WWE roster.

Rhett Titus v Kurt Angle ~ King Of The Ring Tournament Qualifier

Quote :: Kurt Angle quickly takes control of the match and locks his arms around the waist of Rhett. He hoists Rhett up into the air and slams him back down to the mat to a small pop from the crowd. Angle rolls Rhett over on his back in order to go for a cover but Rhett kicks at him before rolling back onto his feet. Angle goes for a clothesline but Rhett manages to duck underneath and follows up with a spinning heel kick straight to the jaw of Angle. Rhett makes the cover but Angle quickly kicks out. Rhett pins Angle to the ground and begins to hit him over the head with rights and lefts before getting to his feet. He kicks Angle hard in the side of the body but is unable to continue his attack as the referee stands in his way. Angle uses this time to get back to his feet and stands at the ropes, awaiting the referee’s permission to continue. The referee steps away from Rhett and Angle charges straight at him, taking him down with a spear. Once Angle has Rhett down on the ground, he begins to lay into him with multiple right hands to the head. Rhett scrambles over to the ropes and manages to hook his legs to the bottom rope, causing the referee to drag Angle off of him. Rhett gets to his feet and waits for Angle to come at him before spitting in his face. The anger visibly begins to grow inside of Angle and Rhett dances around him, obviously mocking him. Angle turns and runs at Rhett but he jumps up and comes back down, kicking Angle back. This sparks an uncharacteristic cheer from the crowd as Angle falls into the middle rope. Angle gets up, getting even more frustrated, and turns as Rhett charges at him. Angle dodges an attack from Rhett before hooking his arms around the waist of Rhett. He picks him up for the German suplex but Rhett reverses it into a victory roll.

Angle just manages to kick out and Rhett instantly gets back to his feet. Angle gets up only a few seconds after Rhett and both men stare at each other from across the ring. They slowly step towards each other before meeting in the centre of the ring. Angle puts his hand up to lock up with Rhett but Rhett is having none of it and kicks Angle in the midsection and follows up with a kick to the face. Angle stumbles back and Rhett quickly snatches him before nailing the Sex-Factor. Rhett drags Angle to the centre of the ring and turns him into his back before running to the top rope. He flips off the fans before turning to Angle and diving down, nailing the Frog Splash.

Spoiler:

Rhett gets to his feet, holding his abdomen but still with his arm raised in the air. He is announced as the winner and mockingly waves goodbye to Angle as he leaves the ring. He heads backstage as the current brackets in the King Of The Ring tournament pop up on the screen.
