Friday Night Smackdown 6/8/12 “Taking Over”

The show opens up with the pyro. Michael Cole and Booker T say that CM Punk is facing Alberto Del Rio tonight in the main event. Sheamus comes out to the ring to some cheers from the crowd. He says that last week he proved his dominance in the WWE and that he will win at No Way Out. Alberto Del Rio comes out and says that he may want to reconsider facing him and that he should just give up the title. Sheamus says that he will over his dead body. Del Rio and Sheamus have a short staredown before the People Power music hits. John Laurinaitis says that tonight Sheamus will go one on one with The Great Khali. Sheamus says that it won’t be too hard to beat him before Alberto Del Rio attacks him from behind. Laurinaitis says that his match is next as Del Rio smirks at the fallen Sheamus.

**COMMERCIAL**

We come back to Smackdown as Sheamus is getting up while holding his mid section. The Great Khali comes out to boos from the crowd before this match gets underway.

Sheamus vs The Great Khali

The Great Khali right away goes for the mid section he backs him into the corner and runs his shoulder into him. Sheamus falls to the ground and Khali lifts him up with one hand. He hits a massive chop and Sheamus goes down. He slowly drops down for the pin. Sheamus kicks out at 1. Khali grabs Sheamus’ hair and pulls him up. He throws him into the corner. Khali begins running at Sheamus only to run into the turn buckle. Sheamus flips Khali over his shoulder and he is on fire now. Khali is slow to get up and Sheamus hits a back breaker. He taunts for the crowd before Alberto Del Rio walks out onto the stage. He looks at him, but turns quickly to Khali and hits a Brogue Kick. He pins him for the win.

Winner: Sheamus

Sheamus grabs his World Title and celebrates. Del Rio runs down to the ring only to get blasted by a title shot from the World Champion. Del Rio goes down hard as Sheamus continues to celebrate. We cut to backstage.

Matt Striker is backstage interviewing Daniel Bryan. He asks how he plans on capturing the WWE Championship at No Way Out in 9 days. Daniel Bryan says that he should already be champion. He then goes on to say that he plans on doing exactly what he’s made Punk do all the time. Tap out. He then says that Kane is nothing but a clueless monster who can’t tie his own shoes. He says it will be a cake walk and all you’ll hear is Yes! Yes! Yes! He walks off as we go to commercial.

**COMMERCIAL**

We come back and Ezekiel Jackson is standing in the ring. He’s preparing for his match. Damien Sandow comes out with a mic. He asks why he’s facing this beast again in an intellectual way. He then goes on and says that he will quickly finish this before moving on to bigger and better things. Intellectually, of course.

Ezekiel Jackson vs Damien Sandow

Jackson and Sandow lock up in the middle of the ring. Sandow locks in a head lock before Ezekiel over powers him and hits a suplex. He flexes as Sandow gets up. They circle around the ring before Sandow hits a kick to the gut of Ezekiel. He hammers his arm into Jackson’s back and he’s down on one knee. He runs off the ropes and hits a big boot to the face. He goes for the pin and gets a two count. He taunts and Jackson has time to get up. He runs at Sandow with a clothesline as he turns around. He pits Sandow in the corner and starts running his shoulders into him. Damien drops down to his butt and Jackson switches to stomps. He lifts him up and hits a fore arm to his face. Sandow use his momentum to bounce off the ropes and hit a drop kick. He hits a leg drop on the fallen Jackson and goes for the cover. He only gets a 2 count and Sandow looks frustrated. He drops an elbow on Jackson and goes to the top rope. He waits for Ezekiel to get up and goes for an axe handle. Jackson reverses it and attempts to go for the Book of Ezekiel. Sandow quickly gets out and tries to regroup on the outside.

**COMMERCIAL**

We come back as Damien Sandow has his foot on Jackson’s throat. He lets go before the referee gets to a 5 count. He holds his arms out and the crowd gives a little heat. He lifts Jackson up and runs off the ropes. Jackson finds out where he is and flips him over his shoulders. Sandow gets up and Jackson nails a head butt. He lifts him up and whips him off the ropes. He then explodes with a belly to belly suplex. He pins Sandow only to get a 2 count. He waits for him to get up and attempts to lock in a Torture Rack submission. Sandow escapes and hits a Russian leg sweep. He then grabs his arms and hits a cross armed back breaker. He pins Jackson and gets the win.

Winner: Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow gets up and holds his mid-section. HE raises one arm and grabs a mic. He gives Jackson and the fans a lesson on intellectual shit. Jackson gets up and hits the Book of Ezekiel without Damien realizing he was up. Jackson poses for the crowd.

Backstage, John Laurinaitis is in his office. Trent Barreta walks in and asks why he hasn’t been on TV at all. John says that he simply isn’t impressed with his talent. The fans boo. John then says that he will give him a chance to redeem himself against Cody Rhodes. Trent thanks Laurinaitis and John wishes him good luck. When he walks out of the room, he says that he’ll need it.

**COMMERCIAL**

Two jobbers are in the ring. I wonder who they’ll face? If you guessed Ryback, you’re right. He comes out and the jobbers act all tough.

Ryback vs Nick Hoover and Alex Chase

Hoover comes running after Ryback only to get thrown across the ring. Alex Chase runs after and hits a drop kick. That only makes Ryback mad. He comes at Chase with a huge shoulder which sends Alex flying to the outside. Hoover gets up and gets clothes lined. That turns him completely inside out. Ryback waits for him to get up and hits a Shell Shocked. Chase runs in and gets hit with the move as well. He pins both of them for the win.

Winner: Ryback

Ryback celebrates after his win. His celebration is interrupted when Titus O’Neal and Darren Young come out. The crowd gives heat and Ryback stares both of them down.

**COMMERCIAL**

Antonio Cesaro, Aksana, and John Laurinaitis are having an argument in the back. Aksana gets mad at Ace because Antonio hasn’t been booked in a match. Ace says that he is all for People Power, and points to Teddy Long. He says that Long said the people don’t want to see Antonio Cesaro and that he agreed since he thought it was true. Cesaro gets in Long’s face before backing up. Laurinaitis then says he can have a match next week against a returning Sin Cara. He exits and Long looks stunned and pissed.

Back in the ring, Trent Barreta is there. He’s waiting for his opponent. Christian is on commentary. Cody Rhodes comes out with his eyes glued on Christian.

Trent Barreta vs Cody Rhodes

Trent runs at Cody and starts hammering at his head with fists. He runs off the ropes to be met with a knee to the gut from Rhodes. Barreta flips over and lands on the mat. Rhodes then starts stomping before yelling at Barreta to get up. Once he does, Cody hits a bulldog and goes for the pin. He gets a 2 count. He drops a knee onto the face of Barreta. He then hits the Alabama Slam. Rhodes goes to the top rope and looks for a moonsault. Trent rolls out of the way and Rhodes crashes it the mat. They get up at the same time and Barreta hits an enzuigiri. Rhodes crashes down and Barreta gets up as the crowd cheers. He waits for Rhodes to get up and hits a springboard elbow shot to the face. Trent goes for the pin and gets a 1 count. Rhodes gets up and gets hit with a kick to the side of the head. Barreta then goes up to the top rope. Rhodes meets him up there and brings him down with a belly to belly suplex. Rhodes gets up first and attempts a Beautiful Disaster. Trent dodges it and climbs to the top rope quickly before hitting a moonsault on Rhodes. Christian watches on with a smile on his face. Barreta then hits a Dudebusters DDT and pins Rhodes for the upset victory!

Winner: Trent Barreta

Trent Barreta celebrates wildly as he won his return match on Smackdown. Christian walks into the ring and celebrates with Barreta as we go to a commercial.

**COMMERCIAL**

We come back to Trent Barreta being interviewed about his win. He says that this was a great time tonight and he can’t wait to move onto bigger and better things. Striker asks if this win will launch the start of a run for the Intercontinental Championship. Barreta simply says no doubt as superstars walk by and congratulate him for the win.

Alberto Del Rio walks down to the ring as the fans boo him. He simply smiles as Ricardo Rodriguez announces his name. CM Punk comes out to a huge pop before the match is to take place.

Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk

These two lock up in the middle of the ring. Punk gets the upper hand and immediately hits a bulldog. Punk waits for Del Rio to get up and hits a forearm which sends Del Rio flying off the ropes. Punk hits a drop kick and Del Rio goes down hard. He covers him, but Del Rio kicks out at 1. The fans cheer as Punk heads to the top rope. Del Rio stands and Punk drops a Dusty Rhodes like elbow to the head of Del Rio. CM Punk gets on the second rope and taunts for the crowd before we cut to commercial.

**COMMERCIAL**

Del Rio has the upper hand and is hitting elbows to the shoulders of Punk. During the commercial break, Del Rio countered a GTS into a DDT. He locks in a head lock on Punk and he struggles to get out. He stays like that for a while until Punk tries to gain some momentum and stands up. Del Rio just slams him down to the mat and Punk hits his neck hard. Del Rio hits a snap suplex and goes for the cover. He gets a two count. Del Rio starts stomping on Punk to weaken him. He lifts him up and throws him into the corner. Punk counters a clothesline and goes up to the top rope. Alberto quickly sees this and hits a massive enzuigiri that send Punk crashing to the outside. Del Rio fallows and hits Punks head off of the announce table. He hits yet another suplex and goes back into the ring. Del Rio is taunting Punk and tries to go back out. The ref stops him and Daniel Bryan runs through the crowd and starts stomping on Punk. AJ runs out to tell the ref and Bryan rolls Punk into the ring. He also slides in the WWE Title for Del Rio to use. He hits Punk with it and goes for the pin. The ref turns around and sees this but Punk kicks out at 2. Daniel Bryan runs into the ring and starts beating down on Punk before the referee calls for the bell.

Winner via DQ: CM Punk

The assault continues as Del Rio joins in. All of a sudden, Kane’s music hits and he walks out. He hits an uppercut on Daniel Bryan and then Del Rio tries to attack Kane. He hits a Choke Slam on him and then turns and hits one on Daniel Bryan. Punk gets up and they have a stare down. AJ gets in the middle of it before Kane starts to choker her. CM Punk then hits a massive kick to Kane’s head that sends him crashing to the ground. He hits a GTS on him and then Punk and AJ look at each other. AJ smiles before Punk walks out of the ring leaving her alone. The show ends.
