| BACKSTORY Ever since before Sacrifice, the unsung heroes of the TNA X-Division began speaking out. Originally the X-Divison stars pleaded their case and begged for a chance on iMPACT! but their cry was met by harshness on the part of one particular Eric Bischoff. As Bischoff and Hogan tried to find out who the "network representitive" was, the X-Division stars took it upon themselves to throw a spanner in the works. They messed with Bischoff and Hogan, often offering useless information, pretending they knew things and all in all sending the two on a wild Goose chase.
At Sacrifice, not one star deemed to hail from the current X-Division made an appearance. Including Kazarian. Immortal done battle with Fortune who were represented by A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels and Beer Money. Kazarian was reported to be legitimetly pissed off that Bischoff and Hogan booked Winter versus Velvet Sky and Rob Terry versus Gunner for Sacrifice and that they couldn't find enough time to have him make a defense of his X-Division Championship.
On the following iMPACT! Kazarian parted ways with Fortune on good terms, citing that it was time for the X-Division to make a rebirth. A.J. and Daniels knew where he was coming from and their was no harsh feelings or animosity between the groups.
On the next iMPACT!, Amazing Red, The Motor City Machine Guns and Brian Kendrick came out when Bischoff was making an "important announcement" and went on a rampage and tirade against TNA since Hogan and Bischoff took over. They said they wanted their chance to prove their worth which Bischoff insisted they would get. He announced that at Slammiversary it would be the four men against Rob Terry, Bully Ray, Murphy, Tommy Dreamer and Gunner. He closed the promo by saying he'd make his announcement next week and that they had a week to find a fifth man.
The resulting iMPACT! showed the four men asking Generation Me to help out but the two brothers couldn't decide who would do it resulting in a fight between them. They asked Okato, but he could not understand them. As a last resort they asked Robbie E who said he couldn't because he had an appointment for a tan. They resigned themselves to their fate and went to chill in the parking lot. Red was tossing a ball around with The Guns whilst Kendrick smoked a cigarette. A limo pulled up and we seen two pairs of legs leave the limo but we did not see who the men were. Kendrick dropped his cigarette in shock as iMPACT! cut for a break. After the main event Bischoff made his announcement saying that Spike TV had agreed to make Xplosion a two-hour weekly show. Bischoff said it would air on Wendesday nights and it'd just be another two hours of Immortal domination. This was met with great displeasure by the crowd but they lightened up when Kendrick, The Guns and Red came out. The X-Division stars said that they had got their fifth man, to which Bischoff said that he had seen the monitors, they were lying, nobody wanted to help them. At this point Kazarians music hit and the X-Division Champion came out to a big cheer. He announced himself as the fifth member of ... Team Xplosion. Bischoff asked what he was implying but Kazarian said he and a friend would have answers next week.
The show closed and for the next week the IWC was buzzing, many predicted the return of Jay Lethal but what was to happen on iMPACT! shocked everyone.
Bischoff demanded to speak to the X-Division stars in-ring at the start of the show but nobody came out. Various clips of Bischoff trying to find them was shown throughout iMPACT! but to no avail. Towards the end of the show Bishoff and Hogan with Bully Ray, Rob Terry, Tommy Dreamer, Murphy and Gunner in tow hit the ring and Hogan demanded that the X-Division get out here. The five men came out and Kazarian said that Bischoff claims Xplosion will be for Immortal where in reality it's going to be a show soley based on the X-Division as a whole seperate entiety than the main roster. Bischoff and Hogan laughed it off claiming they had no power to make that desicion. Kazarian said that for the moment that was true but that they wanted the stipulation for their match on Sunday at Sacrifice to be that if Team Xplosion beat Immortal then Xplosion would be for the X-Division. Bischoff and Hogan again laughed it off and said that Frankie Kazarian has no power to add stipulations to matches. Kazarian responded by agreeing that he had no power but the network representitive had. And the X-Division had his support. Hogan demanded to know who it was. He said that if they didn't tell him, they were all fired!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The fans pop like crazy as Ric Flair comes out and places a hand on his shoulder. Bischoff and Hogan question why he was doing this and why he was siding with the X-Division. Flair said that he'd long been against Immortal and he always hated the X-Divisions treatment but he had never bothered standing up for it. That was until Jay Lethal had been fired. Flair said they had ruffled more than a few feathers with that decision, especially his. He seen Lethal as a personal friend and wasn't happy so the stipulation Kazarian suggested was in effect - by order of the network. Wooooo!
At Slammiversary Team Xplosion took on Immortal in a ten-man tag elimination match. Brian Kendrick was first to go, quickly followed by Alex Shelley. Amazing Red had a great spell and eliminated Tommy Dreamer, Murphy and Rob Terry. Bully Ray dominated and eliminated Chris Sabin and the impressive Amazing Red. This left Kazarian in a two on one situation but he rallied and pinned TV Champion Gunner. Kazarian was reeling after the two on one stage of the fight and Ray once again dominated. Kazarian got the crowd behind him and he got on top. Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan ran down after Kazarian hit his finisher and whilst Hogan distracted the referee, Bischoff slid a chair into Bully Ray. Bully Ray was about to cream Kazarian with the chair when Jay Lethal hopped the barricade and slid into the ring. Ray swung for him but Lethal evaded and nailed a Lethal Combination onto the chair. Lethal hopped out of the ring just as the referee turned around to see Kazarian run over to Ray and hook the leg. 1, 2, 3! The X-Division won and now had their very own two-hour weekly show! Team Xplosion came out to celebrate alongside Jay Lethal and a jubilant iMPACT! Zone. Ric Flair joined the fray and announced he would be the on-screen commisioner of Xplosion and that certain members of the roster had already verified their spot as members of the Xplosion brand. He said that signings would be made starting with the re-hiring of Jay Lethal!
After the PPV Ric Flair stated that he intends to exploit TNA's connection with AAA and will re-hire some former X-Divison stars to bolster his brand including some former X-Division champions. He then revealed that a few guys from the independent circuit, one or two old friends and a shock re-apperance would round out his roster. Stay tuned.
Welcome, to X-Division Xplosion.

| AAA Connection Grows As Xplosion Commissioner Ric Flair stated during the aftermath of Slammiversary he has exploited the connection between Total Nonstop Action and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración by bringing over three luchadores to compete on Xplosion. Joining the already signed El Zorro is awe-inspiring, dare devil Aero Star, 2009 Rey de Reyes winner and AAA World Heavyweight Champion Electroshock and to round it out, one half of the current AAA World Tag Team Champions and the most recent Rey de Reyes winner - Extreme Tyger. It is reported that the Mexican trio are still contractually obliged to AAA.

| Highlights From Ric Flair's Press Conference With a reasonable crowd in attendance Ric Flair took center stage flanked by Xplosion X-Division Champion Kazarian and the recently re-signed Jay Lethal. Ric Flair opens by saying that with Xplosion a whole new alternative will be offered to the world of professional wrestling. He says that nothing can quite comapre to the high-flying, fast-paced, adrenaline-fuelled division of wrestling that is the X-Division. He continues to say that it is an accquired taste but he hopes people will learn to open to their minds to the endless amount of potential that these exciting X-Divisionists have. He says that either side of him are two men that are of great standing in the X-Division and that they will be setting the benchmark for the rest of the X-Division. He announces that the bar will be raised very high by both men as they will square off in a one on one non-title match in the inaugural main event of Xplosion under ther X-Division moniker. He then goes onto say that Xplosion will be shot in a different studio than the one used to shoot iMPACT! to offer a different feel and setting. He announces that the primary coloring scheme used will be green and purple, the ramp will not connect to the ring, the maximum attendance is 1'000 and perhaps most tellingly the ring used will be a six-sided one. He pauses for a moment and there is audible noise amongst the reporters. Ric Flair then goes onto announce the signings of two tag teams to the brand - T.J. Perkins and Rocky Romero and "The Extreme Vibez". Before Ric Flair gets to announce who The Extreme Vibez are, a reporter asks who Perkins and Romero are. Kazarian and Lethal seem a bit taken back by the statement but Flair takes it in his stride. He says they are two highly trained cruiserweight athletes that are of good standing on the independent scene. He believes that with some proper grooming they could be future stars and he highly urged anybody who didn't know them or who hasn't seen their work to look them up. He said he will not hype them to the moon as he believes that actions speak louder than words and that they will prove themselves. He then announces that The Extreme Vibez is the team of Kid Kash and SABU. This is met with a lot of disgruntlement from the press but Kazarian steps in. He says that the X-Division isn't about weight limits, it's not about age limits, it is soley and firmly about NO limits. He said that both these men reached notabality wrestling in a bingo hall that was lucky to have not seen deaths inside the ring. He said to give them a chance, don't judge them on their past or age and that he was fully confident that they'd fit right in. Lethal backed up this statement and said that the rest of the Xplosion roster had approved of their signing. One clued-in reporter then asked the question. With Generation Me and Motor City Machine Guns already on Xplosion and the probability that at least two of the AAA guys would team up, why was Flair signing these men as tag teams when all four could be competitive singles members? Ric Flair didn't answer but instead clicked his fingers, ushering out a hooded man carrying a box covered by a red sheet. He placed it in front of Naitch and stepped behind him, still covering his face with his hood. Ric Flair then whipped it off to reveal a glass case containing a set of identical titles - silver centerpiece and surrounding pieces on a green strap with X Tag Champions embroided in purple font on the strap. There was a russle in the crowd and the sound of clicking and the sight of flashes as people jostled for position to get a picture of the new X Tag Championships. Suddenly the drama died down when the hooded man spoke "Now das cool!". The hooded man stepped forward and lowered his hood revealing himself to be Carly Colon a.k.a Carlito. The crowd clapped and turned their flash photography towards him. Carly posed with Jay and Kaz and then beside the X Tag Championships before finally shaking the hand of Ric Flair and holding for pictures to be taken signifying his commitment to Xplosion. Ric Flair concluded the press conference by announcing that he was still in talks with other wrestlers and that two more would be announced tomorrow via TNA's official website. He then gave a plug to not forget that there would be one man re-appearing and "defecting if you will" to Xplosion. He finally finished up by saying he hoped to see everybody at the first episode of Xplosion this coming Wendesday on June 22nd and thanked the reporters for the time. Flair, Kazarian, Lethal and Colon left the room to an audible buzz, satisfied with the conference. | |
