I think having Luke in the bottom three was a message.

yeah just to scare him into stepping his game up which he needs otherwise he will get left in the dust by Martin

Right now Martin is standing out from the rest of them. I think Luke being described as the top dog motivated Martin into making himself better. Perhaps the same will happen for Luke?

I thought the same thing. Orton's heel character seems to fit Luke.
