| WWE has created (or is in the process of creating) the NXT Championship, a title that will be contested on the now-FCW-like NXT program. A "Gold Rush tournament" (ECCW might sue due to the usage of that name...) was announced and taped for NXT to decide the first champion. The eight involved are as follows (in alphabetical):

Jinder Mahal
Justin Gabriel
Leo Kruger
Michael McGillicutty
Richie Steamboat
Seth Rollins
