SVR11 Online is Awful

What are your opinions on SVR11 online? Whether your system is 360, PS3, or whatever else, one thing seems to be the same in all of the recent WWE games; online modes are horrid.

Not only does the CONSTANT LAG make reversals, kick outs, and grapples nearly impossible to accomplish, but it also slows the pace sometimes so bad that everything appears to be in slow motion, while sometimes the match is continuously interrupted with the message telling you that the system is "attempting to restore your connection." The lag is definitely a problem and it is one of the things making the online modes really bad. THQ and company are very well aware of this yet they still have taken no initiative to actually fix it. It isn't impossible, SVR11 is the only game I have ever played that you are guaranteed a lag 100% of the time when you play online. The other games can get it right, so why can't they? It is so frustrating to be beaten on without any hope of reversing or whatever else, since the lag almost 90% of the time shows you that once you are down, you are going to be staying down.

Some other things I hate; they aren't especially THQ's fault, it's complaints about the playing styles of other players. (Although I expect by now THQ ought to be patching all of these terrible glitches, hacks, cheats, and absolute nonsense really. But that's the thing, they have not). Not only will the lag frustrate you to no end, but so will these awful styles of play. Throughout playing, (I own all the games from 2008-2011, but only played online in 2010 and 2011) I have noticed nothing but an increase in these horrible cheats. I'll list everything I can remember encountering; all the glitches and hacks.

If you want to, you can reply and join in with glitches, etc. that you have come across and we can add to the ever growing list of atrocities in this game's online modes.

Freezing opponents: One of the more common things you'll see, I am sure we have all been on the receiving end of it (or at least seen someone be on the receiving end of it), where one of the opponents will do some kind of a move or something on their opponent and as a result they will completely FREEZE and be unable to move for the rest of the match. This is "ideal" for the cheaters and hackers in ladder matches and tag matches, so that they can "eliminate" their opponents. (In other words, once you've been frozen, there's no way back into the game and so they can therefore climb the ladder without interruption or turn your tag match into a handicap match). Other variations of this are the springboard into a cornered opponent and the "freeze finisher," where if done correctly, the certain finisher will also freeze your opponent completely. Sometimes, this can even be done on the referee which basically would result in the match never ending.

Manipulating objects: This is prominent in object-based matches such as ladders, tables, TLCs, cages, etc. I have seen once where somehow my opponent managed to actually insert a chair into my character's stomach, where the chair was actually protruding through the character's upper body and as a result every move performed from there on had a chair shot impact. Another thing I have seen, in a triple threat steel cage match, if two opponents are in a corner and one is putting another into a tree of woe, the third man will perform some sort of a move on the two and they will immediately be sent to the outside of the cage. (As a result of this, the third man can climb over the top of the cage without interruption and win the match).

Bad movesets: On occasion, you'll get one of those cases of "spear, pick up opponent, spear, pick up opponent, spear, etc. etc. etc." With this cycle repeating enough times, you'll be down long enough for your opponent to climb a ladder, escape a cage, handicap your team, pin you, etc. Headbutts to the stomachs, certain DDTs, and kicks are also included in this sometimes.

All over the arena: Just today I saw someone within seconds of the match beginning, teleporting under the ring, therefore not allowing any offense to be against him, then teleporting into the crowd, running all over the arena (in the meantime, zooming out the display so that the rest of the players can't even see what is going on in the ring), and this will continue on until the guy is under the stage all the way at the end of the arena.

Easy kick outs: I have heard of this one but never seen it actually happen. Well, I guess I might have and simply never knew it, but somehow your opponent will kick out of a pin in seconds no matter how much damage you have done to him.

Reverse everything: Similar to the one above, somehow your opponent manages to reverse any offense put against him.

Blackened screen: This is one I have never ever heard of or seen until today and I am really baffled at it. It was a Money in the Bank match I believe, or some kind of multi-person ladder match. What happened was, I noticed one of the competitors did a weird move which tied him up into the ropes. He then fell through the ring and all of a sudden the entire screen went black. (You could still see the "WWE HD" logo in the top left and if you pause, you could see the match was still going on but everything was black). You could not see a thing. You might feel a vibration now and again if you've run into someone or something, but about a minute after everything went dark, the bell rang and someway, somehow, the guy who blackened the screen had climbed the ladder and won the match.

I used to notice that this sort of behavior persisted in the "ranked match" section of online game modes, so I switched over to "player mode" in hopes of getting more fair games. But I'm sad to report that almost every one of these I have also seen in a player match. I don't understand why someone would do it for any reason, but especially in a player match where you get NO points, NO credit, and NO win for doing it.

It's really getting to be ridiculous all around for SVR in general.

I have played online in SvR 11, I must FUCKING Lag! Even though I have won a few times it is still bloody gay with all the lag...

I'd like to add to the list with some newer things I have seen:

Up in the sky: Somehow, your opponent (or opponents) will climb up into space with the ladder climbing animation. Thing is, there are no ladders or anything involved, they simply climb to the roof and on occasion will bring you up there too, so they can essentially powerbomb you from the ceiling to the floor.

Intentional slow motion: I mentioned that sometimes the lag or running under the ring will slow the game to almost slow motion, but I have now witnessed some moves that appear as though the person is intentionally getting the match stuck in slow motion.

Becoming the referee: Today I saw someone freeze the referee with that annoying freeze finisher, which basically got rid of the referee from the match. Later in the match, that same person would do a taunt and anytime he would do that taunt, the referee's voice would count "one." Do it again, you'll hear "two."

Stuck in the barricade: This generally happens after you "fall from the sky." You'll fall right through the barricade sometimes and be stuck in it as a result. All you are able to do from there on is squirm around.

I think it's pretty pathetic that all of this stuff is discovered and used on a regular basis...

Well according to the designers of WWE 12, this has been fixed but they said the same thing about SvR 11...
