Subject: Ric Flair and Alex Shelley Quit TNA Mon May 21, 2012 11:22 pm
From WZ:
According to several sources close to the situation, Ric Flair has indeed quit Impact Wrestling, and he basically just stopped showing up to events. The assumption at this point is that he's going to sign a WWE Legends deal and help fill time on the new TV network. Flair has energy drink and lottery endorsements to fall back on, too.
Additionally, WZ has learned that Alex Shelley quit TNA as well. Apparently WWE will fill extra TV time with, among other things, a Cruiserweight division and/or tag teams, and are looking for smaller wrestlers by way of stocking either, or both. While it has not been confirmed, Shelley will likely go to WWE. There has also been talk of WWE

Gonna be sad to see Flair go, but Shelley can go fuck himself.

Reports I have heard suggest that TNA have told Ric Flair to stop coming due to him running up huge bar tabs in the Orlando area.
But, shit, Shelley ....

That was the reason that Flair was originally told to stop coming to the tapings but after that Flair decided just to quit.

According to Wrestlezone, WWE officials have been in contact with Shelley already but a deal is yet to be made.

Not just for TNA, but for all companies, with the new opportunities the network is probably going to create, I see quite a few talents that may follow suit and quit, hoping to make a name for themselves in the WWE.
