Australian Elite Wrestling, 18/11/2011

"Back in Action!"

P1. Jim Cornette is in the ring with Kevin Kelly, he welcomes everyone to the return of Australian Elite Wrestling. He thanks the fans for coming back after AEW shut down for ages. He talks about the card and hypes up the Main Event, he says this time AEW will not die, he has the some of the best wrestlers in his company and they will make everyone cheer loudly. He is about to leave when Sterling James Keenan comes out and enters the ring and starts questioning Jim about who he is fighting and why he is not fighting for a title when Jim knows how good he is. Jim goes to speak but Kevin stops him. Kevin says Jim knows how good James is but he must prove that by beating his opponent tonight in good terms. James agrees with this so Jim and Kevin leave the ring and James waits for this opponent to come out and it is Colt Cabana!

M1: Colt Cabana def. Sterling James Keenan after a very good match up, both men really showed off their talents and skills to the crowd, and crowd loved it. They even made it to the outside and had a good old fight there before James tossed Colt back into the ring and stalked him for the MK Ultra but Colt countered it into the Billy Goat's Curse! Colt applies the pressure and James tries to reach the ropes but Colt pulls him back and sits on James back and reefs back. James taps out after about 45 seconds of fighting it.

P2: Colt gets on the mike and talks about his win and how much he wants to keep moving forward and make his name bigger here. He says El Generico will win the AEW Heavyweight Championship later on tonight and they will become unstoppable! But unknown to Colt, James is back up and is stalking Colt from behind. James spins him around but Colt rolls under the ropes and stares right at James who is extremely pissed. Colt goes to the back as James rolls out and goes too.

M2: Rocky Romero and Chuck Taylor def. Jack Evans and Teddy Hart, in a pretty funny tag team match. Most of antics came from Chuck and Rocky. Like stalling in the ring, doing the worm and such. Got laughs out of the crowd and even the ref! After all that they got down to the fighting. Jack and Rocky battle for a good 10 minutes before tagging out Chuck and Teddy go to war. Teddy gets the upper hand with the Hart Rate but only gets 2. Teddy picks up Chuck and whips him into the ropes and goes for a slide slam but Chuck counters into the leaping DDT! Chuck tags in Rocky who goes straight to work on Teddy’s arms. He hits his knees on them and does wearing down the moves. He goes to pick him up and but Teddy nails a low blow and nails a moonsault! All without the ref noticing the low blow! Teddy covers and gets 2! Teddy tags out and Jack goes flying out and hits his knee straight into Chuck’s head! Jack lays shots into Chuck who covers up and he land his own which gets Jack off him and Chuck gets up and follows up with a lariat before tagging in Rocky who comes in and kicks Teddy off the ropes before picking up Jack and whipping him into the ropes and Chuck hits the Overhead belly to belly suplex before kicking up and stalking for the Awful Waffle but Teddy goes to attack him but Rocky stops him and locks in the Ankle lock and Chuck sets Jack up for the Awful Waffle and hits it! Chuck covers and gets the three and Teddy taps out at the same time.

P3: Rocky and Chuck are handed the titles and they pose for a while before sliding out and they head backstage. Colt and El are talking about the main event and how El will win it and bring the big one home to the Colt-El home. Colt is hyping El up for it then TNT, Theo walk up and all four guys get into the general convocation and Colt wishes them both luck in their match which is up next. Theo and TNT nod before leaving

M3: TNT def. Theo in the only Aussie match of the night, the crowd really got behind both men as they battled their hearts out. TNT almost had the win the twice after two big power bombs but Theo fought back and levelled him with one big lariat before setting up for the Theo Bomb but TNT wiggled out and brought him down with a face crusher! TNT got the crowd fired up and he set up Theo for the cradle shock and got it! He covers and gets the 3!

P4: TNT helped Theo up and shook his hand and the crowd clapped and cheered for these two home boys. They leave the ring and go backstage. We come across Eddie Edwards and Roderick Strong. They are having a chat about their match which is up next, they both can’t seem to agree on who will win. They both know they can beat each other but Eddie seems to think he has the edge over Roderick Strong as he says this Jim walks up with a smile. He tells the boys they will now compete in a submission match. Jim leaves with the same smile.

M4: Roderick Strong def. Eddie Edwards in the one of the matches of the night, they both really show how good they are. They batter each other they lock in all kinds of submission moves but no one taps out. Strong throws Eddie into the corner and start hammering with fists to the gut. Strong then lands a knee and whips him out of the corner and takes him down with a boot before locking in an arm bar and applies the pressure but Eddie refuses to tap. Eddie gets out of it and starts landing elbow shots and pushes Strong off him and gets up. The crowd is chanting “AE-Dub!” as Strong and Eddie stand face to face before they start exchanging lefts and rights and Strong gets the upper hand with a upper cut and he plants Eddie down with a cutter. He stalks him and Eddie gets up and staggers around before Strong flips Eddie on his back and locks in the Strong Hold and Eddie holds out for about 2 minutes before tapping out!

P5: Roderick and Eddie are standing face to face staring at each other the crowd is chanting “One More Time!” Strong and Eddie look around with wicked smiles. Then they look back at each other. Strong offers his hands and Eddie shakes it which seems they will fight again sometime. They go backstage and we can see AJ Styles walking down the hallway he is ready for his match with Jon Moxely which is up next and it is for the Elite Championship.

M5: AJ Styles Def. John Moxely after the second match of the night, these two fought tooth and nail. They pulled out moves that would put down a man but they kept getting back up and battling on. AJ hand Jon in the corner and was landing head shots. Jon pushed him away and AJ came back but got taken down by a spear! Jon laid into him with punches before picking up and planting him down with Under Hook Pile driver! He got 2. AJ started to fight back with everything he had. He nailed a pay lay after going under a cloth line and he set Jon up for the Styles Clash but Jon turned it into the Moxicity but AJ countered it into the backwards DDT! Styles picked up Jon and nailed the Styles Clash! He covers and gets 3!

P6: AJ Styles is handed the Elite Championship by the ref and he taunts with it. Jon is behind him and when AJ turns around he is met by the Orange Crush! Jon stands tall over the fallen AJ Styles as we cut to the back where we El Generico and Colt talking about the Main Event this coming up. Colt tells El to go after Super Dragon and destroy him then go after the japan tool bag. El nods and Colt looks happy as El walks down hallway.

ME: El Generico Def. Super Dragon and Akria Towaza in one of the matches of the night. Super Dragon and Akria battled for a good 10 minutes before El Generico came crashing down on the both men with a cross body! El started landing punches on Dragon and knees, Akria came across with a right which through El off Dragon. Akria picked up El and nailed a back breaker on him but Dragon made the save as Akria covered. Dragon through Akria into the corner and started Violence Party and as Dragon was in the corner looking over the fallen Akria he was taken out by the Ole Kick! El picked up Akria and tried to whip him into the ropes but Akria countered into a belly to belly. Akria covered and only got 2. Akria screamed at the Ref before picking up El and going for a super plex but Dragon ran in and nailed a lariat on Akria and then picked up El and nailed the Northern Lights Super Plex! Dragon covered and El kicked out at 2! Dragon was not happy about this and picked up El and went for the Tiger Bomb but El countered into the Brain Busterahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! El covers and Akria makes the save! Akria starts landing elbow shots and kicks on El before throwing him away from Dragon. Akria picks up Dragon but gets taken out by a sick lariat from Dragon, Dragon sets up Akria for the Curb Stomp but El runs in and nails the Ole Kick! El knows Dragon won’t stay down from that so he picks him up and nails the Brain Busterahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh onto Akria back! El covers Dragon 1…..2……3!!!!!!!

P7: El Generico is handed the AEW Heavyweight Championship and he goes wild. He runs around shouting and cheering. He stands on the turn buckle and lifts the title high into the air and the crowd loves it. Colt comes out and hugs his friend and tells the crowd to get into the ring. The fans are in the ring with Colt and El. El is on their shoulders with the title high in the air as Super Dragon looks on from outside the ring. The show ends with the title high in the air!

I thought it was pretty good

Only thing, I thought it was pretty obvious who would win the main-event seeing as there was no input from Super Dragon or Akira Tozawa during the show.
