| ** Using the benefit of hindsight and common sense, I will be starting TNA from the beginning trying not to make the same mistakes that the company has made whilst at the same time attempting to distance itself from WWE and become a true alternative. Over time, the company will look to challenge WWE and attempt to become the number one promotion in the world. ** The year is 2002. Both WCW and ECW are dead in the water and WWE has a monopoly on the wrestling business. During a fishing trip Jeff and Jerry Jarrett and Bob Ryder were contemplating their futures in wrestling. They discussed possibly creating their own new company. At first only Jeff Jarrett took the talks seriously but he convinced Ryder and his Dad that they could realistically create their own promotion. The TNA concept was soon born. Jeff Jarrett wanted to bring in Vince Russo as head booker but he was strongly opposed by his Dad, Jerry. After much debate, the booking committee was comprised of Mike Tenay (who would double up as commentator), Jeremy Borasch (who would double up as the ring announcer) and Dutch Mantell. Joining Tenay on commentary would be ex WCW announcer Tony Schiavone and the unknown Don West. Jeff, Jerry and Mike Tenay then went on a scouting mission to find new talent. They attended a Ring of Honor show in Pennsylvania and thought they hit the jackpot. They saw a multitude of great talent and went about signing them right away. Coupled with a selection of veterans, they thought they had a great variety. The booking team thought that the best way to go was to focus on younger talent who over time could become major stars and replace the veterans. This is reflected in the roster. Jerry Jarrett then made a huge deal with the National Wrestling Alliance. He managed to get TNA into the NWA which allowed the company to get more exposure and more talent. The NWA World Heavyweight and NWA Tag Team Championships would be operated in conjunction with TNA wrestling. As well as that, TNA created their own championship which would be known as the X-Division Championship. In an interview, Jeff Jarrett stated that the X-Division “is not about weight limits, it’s about no limits”. It is reported that TNA will place a big emphasis on the X-Division. They settled on these three titles. However, another problem that TNA faced was broadcasting their product to the public. It was a time where television networks were unwilling to take on a wrestling show, so TNA needed to come up with a new idea. Bob Ryder did just that. He came up with the concept of having weekly PPVs. Some in the company loved the idea and some were sceptical. Ryder explained to the sceptics that this was the only option, so it was either weekly PPVs or nothing. TNA wanted the PPVs to be affordable, so set the price at $9.95.

I'm glad but the first show will be up, most likely Friday I'm afraid. Exams finish this week for me so after that I will have plenty of time for this.

Yeah thanks, over the last couple of years I have become disheartened with TNA's product so I want to recreate it the right way.

| NWA officials have today announced that there will be a tournament to determine who will become the currently vacant NWA Champion. The tournament will feature 16 of NWA TNA's biggest stars. The tournament will begin on TNA's debut event where four first round matches will take place.
8 of the 16 participants have so far been announced. It is believed that these eight will take part in the first round matches on TNA's Weekly PPV #1. It is unclear, however, who will face who.
Announced Participants: Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, K-Krush, Steve Corino, Brian Christopher, Sabu, Sean Waltman and the winner of a qualifying match which will take place before the show.

| Rumours are circulating that the National Wrestling Alliance have sent a Director of Authority to Total Nonstop Action who will oversee everything that takes place. He will have the power to overrule any decisions that involve the NWA and its rich heritage.
As of this moment, the Director of Authority has asked to remain anonymous.
