| Backstory
In 2011, Scott Hall made an announcement that would forever change the wrestling world. He told the wrestling world that he had started his own promotion, National Championship Wrestling. Some fans were extremely excited, but most were sceptical. NCW had no TV deal, little financial backing, and nothing was known about what talent Hall would be bringing in. However, the latest of these worries were quickly erased when Hall announced the roster included both veterans like Sean Waltman and hot prospects like The Ring Rydas and Bailey Mannix. However questions remain how long NCW can stay relative without being on Television and how long they can even stay afloat without a major financial backer.

| NCW has announced that an eight-man, single elimination tournament will be held to decide the first ever NCW Champion. The first set of matches has already been confirmed.
Shad Gaspard v. Dave Finlay
Ken Doane v. Caylen Croft
Kevin Steen v. Monty Brown
Sean Waltman v. Brian Knobbs

| Nigel's on commentary now, Steen took his spot on the roster and in the tourney. Chavo is on the roster, but has 90 days before he can make his debut. Imma say that Waltman is in the company more or less as a favor to Hall. | |

| Scott Hall has released the first ever NCW match card. Two of the announced tournament matches are booked to take place, and a tag team match featuring the other four competitors is also set to act as the semi-main event for the show. Diamond Dallas Page is in a mid-card match with Lance Hoyt, and rumor has it Page requested the match himself to prove he can run with the big dogs, especially those as powerful as Hoyt. The last match on the card will see the talented Paul Burchill battle with relative unknown Bailey Mannix and former Chikara star Sugar Dunkerton. The card has promise, but execution is just as important as the actual booking, and NCW performers will have to put on one hell of a show to live up to expectations.
