Yeah, the system that has been used recently is known as the "Snake System".

Say you have six companies, this is how the draft picks would work. If each number was a company:

1,2,3,4,5,6.
6,5,4,3,2,1.
1,2,3,4,5,6.
6,5,4,3,2,1.
etc.
